Many children did not go to school because many people then were poor. Children today are lucky. They can all go to school.

Hong Kong is much cleaner now. When I was a boy, it was not so clean.

In the old days, we did not have computers or television sets. Now, most people have computers and television sets in their homes.

There were very few tall buildings then. Now you can see many tall buildings in Hong Kong. A lot of people live in flats now. In the past, many people lived in shop houses or wooden huts.

Grandma: As my family was poor, I did not go to school. I just stayed at home and looked after my little sisters and brothers.
