Unit 10
[Listen and Write]
Seahorses

Seahorses are sea creatures with heads like horses. They may look like horses but they are actually fish.

Seahorses are clever at hiding from enemies because they can change colours quickly. They can become brown, red, yellow, black, grey or white. This makes it hard for enemies to see them.

Some people catch seahorses to make medicine. Others keep seahorses as pets, but pet seahorses often die because it is not easy to care for them.

[Memorized Dictation]
Aaron: What do you think about seahorses?

Bryan: They are beautiful and unusual creatures. Just like fish, they have gills and fins.

Aaron: How do they eat?

Bryan: They suck up tiny sea animals with their long snouts.

Aaron: I think seahorses are graceful animals.
